The Scourge of Arial is an article by Mark Simmons outlining the history of Arial and Helvetica, and the battle fought between them. The tone is very much harsh towards Arial, convicting it of being a cheap imitation. My interpretation of this article is that Arial is somewhat of a gruesome butcher, shown through the photography. The graphics show the overlay of Helvetica in cyan and Arial in red, forcing the reader into an uncomfortable choice between the two. The Scourge of Arial can be read here.
